 Elizabeth Beaudoin

Office Assistant - Dispenser

Meet Liz, our Optometry Office Assistant at Labrecque Optometry! Liz is the familiar welcoming face you'll see when you walk through our doors. Known for her kindness, caring nature, and determination, she’s dedicated to making every patient feel valued and at ease. With a creative approach to problem-solving and a passion for helping others, Liz ensures each visit runs smoothly— whether she’s coordinating appointments, assisting with fittings, or stepping in wherever needed.

In addition to her front office responsibilities, Liz plays a key role in managing our contact lens department. She assists patients through every step of the process, from teaching first-time wearers how to insert and care for their lenses to managing all contact lens orders. Liz also helps patients find the perfect pair of glasses, balancing fashion and function to ensure they not only look great but feel great, too. Her attention to detail and thoughtful recommendations help every patient walk away with confidence in their choice. Committed to growing in her role, Liz will be starting the Optometric Assistant course this fall to expand her skills and knowledge even further.

Off the clock, Liz loves adventuring with her daughter Georgia, relaxing with her husband, and playing with their pup Stella—soaking up every moment with her favorite crew.

Liz's commitment to making the office run smoothly is evident in everything she does, and we are truly lucky to have her!

 Amanda Holford

Office Manager - Dispenser

Meet Amanda, our Office Manager at Labrecque Optometry! She may be newer to the world of optometry, but she’s no stranger to taking care of people (and pets)—after spending over 20 years as a veterinary technician, she made the leap into eye care and hasn’t looked back. Amanda’s bubbly energy, sharp organizational skills, and can-do attitude make every day smoother for both our team and our patients. In addition to keeping the office running like clockwork, she’s also one of our go-to dispensers—helping patients choose frames that fit their face, style, and prescription needs with care and confidence. Whether she’s adjusting a fit, explaining lens options, or offering an honest opinion on style, Amanda brings heart and hustle to everything she does. She’s gearing up to start her optometric assistant certification course this fall and is eager to deepen her knowledge in the field.

Outside of work, Amanda is all about family life. You’ll find her at home soaking up time with her husband, their two boys, two dogs, and two cats—yes, it’s a full house, and she wouldn’t have it any other way!

She’s become such an essential part of our team, we can’t imagine the office without her!

 Melanie Rancourt

Front Desk Assistant

Meet Mel, our dedicated and friendly Front Desk Assistant at Labrecque Optometry! With a warm smile and a welcoming presence, she is often the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring that every visit begins on the right foot. Mel expertly handles a wide range of front desk responsibilities, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, managing patient records, and answering questions with professionalism and genuine care. Her ability to multitask and stay organized keeps our front office running smoothly and efficiently.

But Mel’s contributions don’t stop at the front desk—she also plays a vital role in the clinical side of our practice by performing essential pre-testing procedures. Her precision and attention to detail help ensure that patients are fully prepared for their eye exams, setting the stage for a seamless experience with the optometrist.

When she's not at work, Melanie enjoys spending her free time hanging out with friends and making the most of her downtime.

We’re so glad to have her on board—and we know our patients are too!

Dre Josée Labrecque

Optometrist

Meet Dr. Josée Labrecque, our dedicated and passionate Optometrist at Labrecque Optometry! A proud graduate of the University of Montreal, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2002 and soon after returned to her hometown of Sudbury to begin what has become a remarkable and inspiring career in eye care.

In 2008, driven by a strong desire to provide accessible, high-quality vision care to her community, Dr. Labrecque opened her first clinic in Espanola. Her unwavering commitment to patient well-being led to the expansion of her services in 2014, when she co-founded a second location in Lively. The Espanola office has since closed as she concentrates her efforts on serving the Lively, Manitoulin, Espanola and surrounding communities.  In 2025, with her growing reputation for excellence and a steadily increasing patient base, Dr. Labrecque became the sole owner of the Lively clinic, where she continues to deliver exceptional, personalized optometric care.

Renowned for her compassionate approach, clinical expertise, and attention to detail, Dr. Labrecque consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care. Her bilingual fluency in both French and English allows her to connect meaningfully with a diverse range of patients, making everyone feel welcome, understood, and cared for.

When she's not at the clinic, Dr. Labrecque cherishes time spent with her family and her dog, finding balance in the simple joys of life. Her passion, integrity, and dedication to community wellness make her a trusted and beloved figure in local health care—and the heart of Labrecque Optometry.
